Several smartphone manufacturers by Chinese makes have dominated the AnTuTu rankings in the best performing smartphones for May 2016. The main difference is the 6GB RAM and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 processor, the top 3 best performing smartphones are Vivo Xplay 5 Elite, LeEco Max 2, and Lenovo ZUK Z2 Pro.
These smartphones have internal storage from 64GB to 128GB, which AnTuTu says might be the standard configuration for flagship models. Huwei Honor V8 and Meizu Pro 6 are also included in the list.
The top best performing smartphone is Vivo Xplay 5 Elite, with a score of 128, 706 followed by Lenovo ZUK Z2 Pro with a score of 136, 853. Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and Apple iPhone 6s finished at fifth and sixth place on the rankings. Appl iPhone SE scored 131, 401 ahead of LG G5 which has 128, 232 and Honor V8 with 94, 164.
A number of premium devices like HTC 10, Huawei P9 and ZTE Axon 7 failed to make it to the rankings. AnTuTu calculate the factors on these devices from CPU to GPU performance, RAM and internal storage is also counted.
Last March 2016, AnTuTu released a list of best smartphone chips based on CPU and GPU performance, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor is on top followed by Apple A9 chip and Samsung Exynos 8890 processor.
From the ranking’s list, the Snapdragon 820 dominates the processor competition. Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge have beaten Apple iPhone 6s and iPhone SE in terms of ranking score.
Huawei Kirin 955 processor which has the same features as Snapdragon 820 and Exynos 8890 is on the tenth mark. AnTuTu rankings are based on limited and controlled test performed for devices, their results may or may not reflect real-time usage for long term performance, its still up to the user to know what they need and how these smartphones can help them.
